While the European sword is only a single blade of steel, the Japanese sword consists of steel leaf, iron and old steel. The core of the sword (shingane) is forged by mixing crude iron with steel plates. The steel blade, the hardest part of the sword, has various particles called nie and nioi. Nie (boiling water) symbolizes the spirit of courage and toughness. Nioi (visible fragrance) symbolizes nobility and nobility. These particles are obtained by folding and also a sign because each method has its own pattern.
